Several areas in Luzon were placed under isolation. No communication line, no water, no power as typhoon Karding (international name: Noru) continued to lashed several areas in Luzon with torrential rains and fierce winds and moved in the vicinity of Polillo Group of Island thus, tremendously affecting the island municipalities of Polillo, Burdeos, Panukulan, Patnanungan and Jomalig on September 25, 2022 leaving severe damage to property, agriculture and even lives.
Hence, the entire Polillo Group of Island are without power because the main highways of power were hard hit-down by the strong winds and torrential rains. Resulting to the cut off service wires and posts broken down.
Thereafter almost five (5) days of darkness, through the collaborative effort of QUEZELCO II and Region IV-A Electric Cooperatives (ECs), the power is finally restored back in the town proper Polillo Group of Island. And the residents are now starting to rehabilitate the damaged Karding left to them.
The Region IV-A Electric Cooperatives (ECs) extends their help to QUEZELCO II by sending their Warriors of Lights - Batangas I Electric Cooperative (BATELEC I), Batangas II Electric Cooperative (BATELC II), Quezon I Electric Cooperative (QUEZELCO I) and First Laguna Electric Cooperative (FLECO) to the typhoon hit-areas.
With this, Task Force Kapatid was immediately organized. The Line workers of non-affected Electric Cooperatives (ECs) were mobilized to provide assistance to other ECs in the restoration of electricity in the affected areas.
The Warriors of Light arrived in Infanta, Quezon in the morning of September 29, 2022 and immediately proceeded to Panukulan, Quezon and plunged at once into heavy work. And in after ten (10) days and nights, five (5) out of thirteen (13) barangays in Panukulan were energized.
Other QUEZELCO II Warriors of Light who were assigned in Polillo, Burdeos, Patnanungan and Jomalig did their respective jobs well too.
With all these accomplishments, camaraderie, dedication and commitment, a big, warm commendation is given to the Warriors of Light. Your enthusiasm and passion to help others is unfathomable.
